Installation of PBX gateway and Asterisk Article

Download Ubuntu iso from this link and install as new VM

https://releases.ubuntu.com/22.04.3/ubuntu-22.04.3-live-server-amd64.iso

Download Asterisk 20

https://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/asterisk/asterisk-20-current.tar.gz

(dont forget to add chan_sip in the menuselect step)

After following the manual we need to apply the following steps to use SIP instead of pjsip

1) edit this file: /etc/asterisk/modules.conf

add this part in drivers

load = chan_sip.so

2) change the pjsip binding to another port that 5060 by editing this file:

/etc/asterisk/pjsip.conf

3) change the sip binding to port 5060 by editing this file:

/etc/asterisk/sip.conf
